How we check every listing

How a listing becomes verified and earns the Atalaya Seal, what we check and why it is not a rating of professional quality.

At Atalaya Balear the seal certifies details, not quality. It tells you that what you see on the listing has been checked, where it comes from and when we looked. It does not say whether a clinic or a firm does good work: no directory can certify that.

Three levels

Official records

The listing only shows what appears in an official register (the Spanish Ministry of Health register of healthcare centres or the IBESTAT business directory), with the date we consulted it. We have not checked their website yet, so we show no languages, opening hours or services.

Verified listing

We have found their website and checked that it is the official one: the phone number, address or tax ID from the register appears on it. Languages, opening hours and services come from that website, with a link to the exact page. Every detail is dated.

Atalaya Seal

The highest level. It is awarded to a verified listing that its owner has claimed and whose website meets the following criteria, which we check automatically and in the same way for everyone:

  • A secure website with HTTPS.
  • Fast on mobile: a mobile PageSpeed score of 50 or more.
  • The phone number on the listing appears on the website.
  • A legal notice and a privacy policy, both mandatory in Spain.
  • No injected content or signs of hacking.
  • Opening hours, languages and services published on the site.

A complete Google Business Profile is recommended but not required. The seal shows the year it was awarded and expires after twelve months unless the criteria are met again.

How the seal is lost

If twelve months pass without the details being checked again, the seal is shown as expired until the next check. If a detail no longer matches their website, we remove it.

Independence

Atalaya Balear is owned by Teix Web Studio, a studio that also builds websites. Any web provider can help a business meet the criteria, and owners can ask us for help if they wish, but the seal does not depend on who improves the website: the criteria are the same for everyone and are checked automatically.

What we never do

  • Sell the seal or a position in the listings.
  • Publish reviews, ratings or scores.
  • Make anything up: if we do not know something, we say so.

There is a paid extended listing for owners who want to add photos, a booking button or more detail. It does not award the seal or change its criteria, and it is labelled as such on the listing.
